Description

G. DURICHBN.
NETHER GARMBNT.
APPLIUATION FILED 06T. 25,'1909.
GEORG DURICI-IEN, OF MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA.
NETHER-GARMENT.
QTLSQT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed ctober 25, 1909.
Patented Feb. 1, 192W. Serial No. 524,424.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORG DURIGHEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Nether- Garments; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention-relates to a nether garment and has for its object to provide a garment of this class which will promote the comfort, health and cleanliness of the wearer.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view with the several parts laid out and the front upper portions of the legs of the garment turned out; Fig. 2 is a similar view with the front upper portions of the legs connected together; Fig. 3 is a similar view withthe front ends of the abdominal band connected at the front of the garment; Fig. 4 is a plan view with the crotch member in normal position; and Fig. 5 is a reverse plan view of the garment.
Referring to the drawings for a more particular description of the invention, the garment comprises the leg portions l and 2, the inner upper sides of which are slit as at 3, providing the flaps 4 and 5, the former of which is provided at its top edge with a plurality of button-holes 6, and the latter at its upper edge with a corresponding number' of buttons 7.
The abdominal band 8, is connected at its rear or central portion and at its upper edge with the rear portions of the upper edges of the legs 1 and 2, the lower portions of the ends 9, of said band being cut away or rounded as at 10, and provided at their upper edges each with a plurality of buttonholes 11 adapted to receive the buttons 7. This band supports and strengthens the abdomen and reduces any liabiity of injury thereto to a minimum.
The crotch member 12, is connected by means of the extension 13, with the lower central portion of the abdominal band and is provided at its upper edge with a plurality of button -holes 14. This member is swung up over the front ends of the abdominal band after the latter have been con nected with the buttons and is secured in position by engaging its button-holes 14C with a corresponding number of buttons 15, arranged at the upper portion of one of the ends of the abdominal band.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and operation of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.
Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacricing any of the advantages of this invention as defined in the appended claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is A nether garment comprising leg portions slit at their upper inner ends to provide flaps, an abdominal band connected at its central portion with the upper back edges of the legs, the front ends of said band being adapted to swing over the front portions of the legs, means for connecting one fiap of the legs with the other flap, means for connecting the front ends of the abdominal band with said last mentioned flap, a crotch member connected with the lower central portion of the abdominal band, and adapted to swing over the front connected ends of the same after said ends are in adjusted or connected position, and means for connecting the free end of the crotch member with one end of the abdominal band.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence oi two subscribing wit nesses.
GEORG DURIGHEN.
