The principal object of this invention is to provide a garment supporter of very simple character which will readily support a pair of childs rubber pants and diaper in a correct osition.

A furt or object of the invention is to provide a garment supporter of the above stated character which will permit the rubber pants and diaper .to be readily removed from the child without the necessity of undressing.

A still further object is to provide a garment supporter which is simple in construction, durable, eflicient for the purpose intended, and one that can be manufactured and sold at a relatively low cost.

Referring to the accompanying drawings which form a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a front perspective ofmy improved garment supporter, showing same removed from a child, and Figure 2 is a rear elevation of same.

Referring to the accompanying drawings in detail, like characters will be used to designate like parts in the different. views.

In the drawings, the numeral 1 designates a pair of rubber pants which are worn. by infants and small children and which are adapted when positioned on a child to conceal from view the childs diaper. Heretofore, it has been the practice to support the rubber pants on the child by an elastic band as indicated bythe numeral 2, which is stitched adjacent the upper open end. The desired results have been obtained with this manner of support, but the elastic band has usually exerted such a pressure around the waist of the wearer of same, that the child is generally uncomfortable. With the use of my improved supporter, these difiiculties are entirely eliminated.

carrying out my invention, [I employ a pair of suspenders 3 which are-adapted to be crossed in the back and stitched as at 4. The rear end of each of the straps which comprises the suspenders is stitched to the rubber pants at a point adjacent-the open upper end of same, on the inside as at 5. The extreme rear end of each strap carries a safety pin 6, which is adapted'to engage a diaper for holding same. in an adjusted position, thus eliminating any wear and tear on the undergarments of thechild-as'is the case when the diaper is fastened to same.

A socket 7 is fastened in any suitable manner to the free end of each of the straps and is adapted to engage with a fastening member 8 carried by the rubber pants, as is clearly shown in Figure 2. In order to permit a certain amount of freedom, whereas the movements. of the child will not be restricted in any way, a piece of elastic tape 9, is formed in each of the straps 3, one end of each tape adapted to be stitched together at the point 4 or intersection ofthe straps 3, while the opposite end of each elastic tape strip is stitched as at 5 to the rubber pants 1. Between the intersection 4 and the ends of the elastic tapes are stitched, and indicated by the numeral 5, the straps 3 are folded transversely upon themselves forming thereby a plurality of folds, the elastic tapes 9 being longitudinally disposed between the transversely folded portions of said straps, these folds permitting free but limited elastic movement of the tapes 9. the straps 3 are extended below their attachment to the pants to form tabs which carry safety pins 6.

' Assuming that the pants are positioned on a child having a garment supporter constructed in accordance with my invention attached thereto, and it is desired to remove the rubber pants or the childs diaper, it is not necessary to fully or even partially undress the child, as the diaper and rubber pants can be readily removed by disconnecting the fasteners 7 and 8.

In view of the foregoing description of my invention taken in connection with accompanying drawings, it is thought that any further explanation as to construction, operation and objects of same are unnecessary.

While I have shown and described the portions of the straps 3 to which the lower preferred form of my invention, I realize that various minor changes may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A garment supporter comprising a pair of shoulder embracing suspenders crossed on the back and permanently attached at their crossing, means for detachably connecting said suspenders at. their front ends to the upper parts of the forward part of a garment, both members of said suspenders being attached at their rear ends to said garment and extended below their attachment to said garment to form tabs, detachable devices carried by said tabs to support another garment, portions of the suspenders between said crossing and their rear ends being folded transversely upon themselves, and strips of elastic tape attached to the suspenders at their crossing and extended within the folded portions thereof to the lower rear portions of the suspenders and attached to said garment.

A garment supporter comprisin a pair of shoulder embracing 'suspen ers crossed on the back and permanently attached together at their crossing, means for detachably connecting said suspenders at their front ends to the upper forward part of a garment and means for permanentl attaching the lower rear'portions of sai sus- (MRS.
