To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, RICHARD A. TVALKEP. and Josnrrr V. PARRISH, citizens of the United States, residing at Skidmore, in the county of Nodaway and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Combination Sewing-Material Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to combination holders for sewing utensils and comprises a simple and compact device for holding thimbles, spools, needles, etc., and possesses an ornamental effect as will be more fully described in the following specification set forth in the claim and illustrated in the drawing which is a perspective View of the holder.

The device may be made of wood or sheet metal. and painted, varnished or decorated as desired and consists of the base 1 mounted on the feet 2 and preferably semi-circular in shape. On the base is a box 3 of similar shape and whose walls at extend toward the front of the base and carry an outwardly extending shelf 5 with vertical pins 6 for the spools of thread or silk.

At the front ends of the base 1 are circular open boxes 7 to receive thimbles which are placed therein inverted so that they may be readily secured upon the finger of the user when wanted and the front side of the box 3 is closed by a wall 8 with a cylindrical case 9 to contain the pin cushion 10.

The box 3 is preferably without a cover and is used as a receptacle for scissors, buttons, hooks, eyes and other articles that may be useful in sewing.

This holder for sewing utensils combines devices in common use and provides means wherein the tools and material may all be collected and carried in a simple and cheap portable article.

It is obvious that the details of the device may be modified in construction or otherwise arranged without departing from the essential features above described.

The wall 8 of the structure herein shown is bent to form a novel and effective container for the cushion as is obvious.

What we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

In a holder for sewing material, the combination with a base having a chamber or a receptacle, of boxes at the front corners thereof for thimbles, and a pin cushion between the boxes and pins for spools around the upper edge of the receptacle.
