Be it known that I, HORACE S. RUMsnr, a citizen of lthe United States of America, residin at the city of St. Louis, ,in the State o Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tater-Closets, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the vaccompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

My invention relates to an improvement in'water closets, and more particularly to water closets for use in prisons, the invention having for its main object the production of a closet seat and hinge therefor in which the seat parts are so united byI a concealed pintle as to render it impossiblev for a prisonerto detach the seat .parts for any Y motive, such, for instance, as with the pur.`

I claim:

The combination in a Water closet, of a seat and pair of hinge sections provided with means for attaching them to a snpy port, and a pintle connecting said seat to said hinge sections, one of said hinge sections being provided at. its inner end with a stem entering into the' other hinge section.
