To all whom "it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES M. HUTCHIN- sort, a citizen of the United States, residing at Girard, in the county of Erie and State of Pennsylvania,.have invented certain new and useful. Improvements in Cabinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the iiiveiition, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to-make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked, thereon, forming part of this specification.
-My invention relates to cabinets, and has for, its objects the improvements in the construction thereof hereinafter set forth and explained, and illustrated in the accompanyin drawings in which:

Fig. 3 is an enlarged view in elevation of one of the shelf brackets thereof and its supports. Fig. 4 is a section thereof on the line .r.2.' in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is an enlarged viewin elevation of a portion of the cabinet showing the door securing mechanism. Fig. 6 is a vertical section of the same on the line *e i in Fig. As shown in these drawings I preferably make my improved cabinet of a top A and bottom 13 of wood, or other suitable material, secured together at their corners by means of posts D, and the back and ends of the cabinet I preferably make of glass plates C. To one of the front osts D, I hinge a door frame E having pre erably a glass panel C" therein. This door E closes against a strip of resilient packing e secured n the bottom of the groove, into which the door-frame E closes, and is ada ted to be compressed by the closin of the (lbor. To secure the free edge of tie door in place when closed, I
provide a catch F on the corner ost D of the cabinet, which catch 15 provi ed on its inner face with a seat f to retain the door latch G, and from this seat'f-the inner face of the catch F slopes outward, so that when the latch G engages the catch F and is moved toward the central seat f therein, it operates to draw the free edge of the door frame inward'against the packing c, as illustrated in Figs. 2, 5 and 6, and thereby rendeis the door closure substantially airtight.
The shelf supporting brackets H of this cabinet are preferably made of sheet metal folded into the shape substantially as shown in Figs. 1, 3 and 4. 'In one end of the rear fold of. the bracket H, I make a horizontal slot 7:, and in the opposite end thereof I make a vertical slot h, as clearly shown in Figs. 3 and 4C. In the inner faces of the posts D of the cabinet I secure headed studs I, at suit able intervals, which areadapted to be engaged by the slots 11 and /1 in the brackets II, so as to reniovably support the brackets ll and ,permit of their vertical location at sired to place the shelves J in the. cabinet. Having thus described my invention so as to enable others to construct, and use the same, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is:
