BOOT AND SHOE.
Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boots and Shoes, of which the following is a description, reference being drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention relates to an improvement in boots and shoes, particularly to that class designed for the use of hunters, fishermen, or=others who desire a strong and comfortable outing shoe, of what may be styled the moccasin type.
The invention, therefore, consists in a boot or shoev constructed as hereinafter described and referred to in the appended claim.

The heel' C is then secured in any well known manner.
By this manner of construction, a shoe is provided in which the bottom part is made all in-one piece, no insole being necessary, a rigid counter portion is secured,- which will not crowd back or Hatten as is the case with all .moccasin type shoes as heretofore constructed, and further a heel can be readily applied. f
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isz- A boot or shoe having the bottom portion formed of a single blank, cut at the rear to form a projecting flap and a sole secured to the bottom portion, and having its rear portion secured to the flap and bent up to form a counter, the edges of the projecting flap being secured to a portion of the blank from which they have been cutaway.
