l claim:
l. In a construction of the character described, the combination of a coupler-head, a, knuckle, a knuckle pivot pin, one or more lugs on the bottoni of said coupler-liead, and a bayonet joint connection between said pivot pinand .each of saidv lugs, substantially as described.
2. ln a construction of the character described, the combination of a coupler-head, a knuckle7 a knuckle pivot pin, a lug on the bottom ot said coupler-bea d havingv a groove open at one end and closed at the other end, said groove also having a depressed portion, and a transverse supporting pin at the lower end of said knuckle pivot pin adapted to enter and leave said lgroove by turning;` said pivot pin and adapted to rest in said depression to prevent displacement of said knuckle pivot pin, substantially as described.
3. ln a construction of the character described, tbe combination of a coupler-head, a knuckle, a knuckle pivotpin, one or more lugs on the bottom oi said coupler-head each having` n curved groove a portion of Which is downwardlyfdeflected, each of said grooves beingl open at one end and closed attbe other, and a transverse supportingrin at the lower end of said knuckle pin the ends of which are adapted to enter and leave said groove by turning; said pivot pinand also adapted torest in the deflected portion. of said groove or grooves to prevent displacement of the knuckle pivot pin, substantially as described.
