In the modified construction shown in Fig. 5, the flap 16 is cut out from the body of the garment and the flies 17, which are indicated by dotted lines, are attached to the garment at their upper edges and their outer edges are attached along the edges to the 0 enings, as is indicated by the dotted lines, t e flaps thus overlapping. This construction, however, lacks many advantages of that shown in the preferred construction.

My improved garmentis simple in structure and at the same time is very desirable The opening in its normal condition is perfectly closed. My im roved garment is ada ted for the use 0 men, women and chih ren.

By attaching the flap 9 as I have described, the desired fullness in the seat is secured to accommodate the body in any position. By forming the flap of sections, as illustrated,

the desired fullness to conform to the hips is secured.

I have illustrated and described my proved bifurcated garment in detaiLin the orm preferred by me on account in it's structural simplicity and convenience in use. I

am, however, aware that it is capable of considerable .variation in structural details without de arting from my invention.

Having't ius described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. A nether'garment having a quadrilateral piece removed therefrom to form an opening and having a slit extending upwardly from said opening; a pair of triangularshapedflies, each of which is-seeured along its inner edge to one of the ed es of said slit, one of said llies being arranged on the inside and the other on the outside and secured along their u per edges so that when the edges of said s it are separated the flies overlap, and a heptagonal flap or closure having its lower edges secured to the lower edges of said opening and adapted, when closed, to cover the lower portion of saidslit.

2. A nether garment having a piece removed therefrom to form an opening and the flies overlap, and a flap or closure having its lower edges secured to the lower edges of said opening and adapted, when closed, to

cover the lower portion of said slit.

3. A nether garment having an openin therein; a slit extending upwardly from saic openin a pair of flies, each of which is s ecured a ong its inner edge to one of the edges of said slit, one of said flies-being arranged on. the inside and the other on the outside and secured along their upper edgesso that when the edges of said slit are separated the flies overlap, and a flap or closure having its lower edges secured to the lower edges of said 0 ening and adapted, when closed, to cover t 1e lower portion of said slit.

4. A nether garment having a posterior openin a pair of flies, each of which is secured a ong its inner ed e to one of the edges Y of said opening, one 0' said flies being arranged on the inside and the other on the outside and secured along their upper edges so that when the edges of said opening are separated the flies overla and a flap or closurearranged to open downwardly.

5. A nethergarmen't having a posterior openin"; a pair of flies, each of which is secured a ong its inner edge to one of the edges of said opening, one of said flies being ar ranged on the inside and the other on the outside and secured along their upper edges so that when the edges of said opening are separated the flies overlap, and a flap or closure arranged to open downwardly, the lower portion of said flap being formed with a fullness.
