IMPROVEMENT IN CHURNS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 92,308, dated July 6, 1869.
To all whom it may concern:
being had to the accompanying drawings, and
to the letters of reference marked thereon, makin g a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a side elevation of the churn with its operating devices and improve ments; Fig. 2, a top view of the same.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction andcombination of the operating devices, when arranged with the adjustable arm hinged to the side or partition wall'ot' a house.
Arepresents a platform or floor of the house that supports the devices, and B represents the wall or side post of a house, to which the adjustable arm U is attached by a hinge or suitable fastening, D,and thumb-screw or bolt E, the arm having a cavity or socket on its under side as a box for the journal F of the vertical shaft G to revolve in and to hold the shaft in its upright position, the upper end of can be tightened or loosened when required and to suit the height of the wheel J. The
pulley H is adjusted and tightened by the thumbscrew K tothe shaft G.
The dashers L are formed of thick wire or iron rods, attached to an upper and lower disk,
