These and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in 20 the accompanying drawing, in which,-
Figure 1 is a rear elevation of the toy. Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the same. Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 deslgnates a frame consisting of upright bars connected at their lower ends by cross bars 2. A suitable handle 3 is connected to the frame. J ournaled in the uprights of the frame 1 is a crank shaft 4 provided with a crank 5 between said uprights. A wind wheel 6 is se- ;0 cured to the outer end of the crank shaft 4.
A figure .7, which is shown as representing Santa Claus is provided with arms 8 pivoted upon a pintle 9 extending through the body and headed up at opposite ends to hold :5 the arms in place and to permit them to swing freely. The hands 10 of the fi ure are loosely connected to the crank 5, w ile the feet 11 are supported upon a pin 12 extending through the feet and through a bracket 13 secured between the cross bars 2.
The operation of my toy may be briefly described as follows: The operator gras ing the handle 3 holds the wind wheel 6 to t e wind to rotate the crank shaft 4. rotated the figure moves back and forth to represent the movements necessary to turn the crank shaft.
A receptacle a upon the back of the figure is used for containin small stones or other sound-producing devices b. This receptacle may represent the sack usually used in carrying toys by the conventional Santa Claus` My toy may be produced at slight cost, is amusing to children and is not liable to get out of order,
The herein described toy comprising a frame, a crank shaft journaled in said frame and provided with a wind wheel at the outer end thereof, an artificial figure connected to the crank portion of the shaft inside the frame, said figure being provided with plvoted arms connected to said crank shaft, said ligure being pivoted at the feet to said frame and said figure being provided with a receptacle connected to the outer surface of the back thereof, said receptacle having therein sound-producing elements and a handle connected to the frame.
In testimony whereof I aiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
