The box is composed of either two or three parts. First, an inner box of which the feed or extension-is a part, the die cut of which is shown in Fig. 5; second, an outer casing secured together about the box, into which the box slides, the form of the casing being shown in the die cut, Fig. 6; third, a separate feed which can be inserted in a suitable box making a three piece construction, see Figs. 20,

21 and-22.

user first opens the box and adjusts the tray as above described. As both sides of the box are rovided with the slots 8 and 10, the tray can e adjusted to either side of the box.

Another form of tray for burned matches is shown in Fig. 3. The empty space at top of cover can be filled with burned matches as it leavesan opening about one inch deep which is well suited for the burned matches.

In the modified form'shown in Fig. 2, the feed 2" is not provided with the hook 4 for adjustment in the cover, the feed being merely folded under the cover. The tray for burned matches, 7, is of somewhat different form, being more nearly square instead of triangular. The lower corners of the side pieces have ears 7 for insertion in the slots 7, in the bottom of the tray, as seen in Fig. 11.

In Fig. 3 is shown another modification of the feed. The feed 2 is provided with In s or rojections 4? which are adapted to to d under the cover as in Fig. 4.

In Fig. 7 is shown a separate feed or extension, the same as shown in Fig. 1, except that the lower edge of the feed 2 is separate from the box and cover.

In Figs. 20 to 24, are shown forms of detached feeds adapted to fold under the casing or project below the casing as seen in Figs. 17 to 19.

In Figs. 21, 22 and 24 the feed is adapted for use in connection with any ordinary slide box, there being no slots cut in the cover and the feed being supported by hooks 4 resting against the inside of the cover as shown in Figs. 18 and 19.

A strip of sand, 12, is applied to gum on the front of the box upon which the matches are lighted.
