and can be discarded after being used a few 7 times.
Another object of the invention is to out portions from the outer curved part of the tray and to bend such portions into horizon- 1 tal position so that said portions will act as cigarette or cigar holders.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claims. V
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which ",1,
Figure 1 is a plan View. of the improved tray.
Fig. 2 is a section on the line 22 of ig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a section on the line 3 -3 of Fig. 1. In these views, the numeral 1 indicates the base or bottom of the tray and the numeral 2 indicates a substantially se i-circular peripheral portion or rim, the titer edge 3 of which extends to the plane oftlie bottom, so
that this part will rest on the surface on.
which the tray rests and thus prevent the tray from being upset.
Portions 4 are cut from the outer half of the semi-circular portion and bent upwardly and curved longitudinally to provide holders for cigarettes and cigars.
This tray can be made of paper or similar material which is not readily inflammable or can be made of asbestos or unprocessed paper and it may be colored or multi-colored paper or other materials to harmonize with the table decorations.
Serial No. 529,179.
It can be manufactured at such low cost that it can be discarded after using.
It'is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my inventiop, what I claim as new is p 1. An ash tray of the class described comprising a bottom portion and a substantially semi-circular rim portion, the outer edge of which extends to the plane of the bottom portion, parts of the outer half of the semicircular portion being cut and bent to a horizontal position and curved to form supports for cigars or cigarettes.
2. An ash tray of the class described comprising a bottom portion and a substantially semi-circular rim portion, the outer edge of which extends to the plane of the bottom portion, parts of the outer half of the semi circular portion being out and bent to a-horizontal position, and curved to form supports for cigars or cigarettes, said tray being formed of paper, asbestos or the like.
In testimony whereof I aflix IIIIIY signature.
