Patented Nov. 10, 1908.
Application filed January 18, 1908. Serial No. 411,472.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CALLIE GEROME WERT- HEIMER, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at 15 Nevern Mansions, Earls Court, in the county of London, England, have invented certain new and useful Im rovements in Pen-Nibs and I do hereby deciare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as f will enable others skilled in the art to which i it a pertains to make and use the same.
'i liis invention relates to that class of writing pens made of steel or other suitable metal which combine two or more nibs in one piece.
According to this invention, I-stamp out of i a piece of steel or other suitable metal a quadruple nib, leaving only a thin attachment be- 1 tween every two adjacent nibs so that as one is used it may be broken off and the next put into position.
In order that my l l i will proceed to describe the same with reference to the drawing accom anying this specification, in which: the igure shows a quadruple nib.
The above mentioned compound nibs A are stamped out of a single piece of steel or said invention maybe 1 other suitable metal by any suitable means. leaving the thin metal portion -B joining adjacent parts of the nibs, as shown.
It will be understood that when one nib is worn out or spoiled, it is simpl necessary to break the same off, to draw tie com ound nib out of the holderand bring a new n1 into posltion for use.
lhe nibs made according to my invention may have the two points of the same characi ter, or they may be different, for instance one may be a sharp point and the other blunt.
l Vhat I claim is:
1. A plurality of pen nibs joined by a thin integral attach ment} and disposed at substantially a right angle to each other, substantially described.
2. A plurality of pairs of pen nibs 'oined by a thin integral iece of metal, an each pair disposed at so stantially a right angle to another pair, substantially as described.
