To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EREDERICK J .W. FISCH- ER, of the city, county, and State of New York,

I pen which is formed or have invented anew and useful Improvement in Pens, of which the following isa specification.

My invention has reference to that kind of provided with an ink holding pocket.

In Letters Patent No. 467,143, of November 29, 1892, I have described and claimed a pen.

having on its under side a cross piece or dam I connected to the body of the pen by side legs-these legs and the cross piece forming the ink holding pocket. I have ascertained that by placing this pocket upon the top of instead of underneath, the pen, the ink hold-- ing capacity of the pen is very greatly increasedthe pen holding in the usual concavity on the under side of the pen the ordinary quantity of ink, while the pocket on top holds an addititional quantity which feeds to I the point of the pen through the usual slit or slot therein. It is this feature which characterizes my present improvement.

In the accompanying drawing-the figure is a perspective View of the pen complete.

A is the body of the pen of any ordinary or suitable shape or construction.- This pen at its sides back of the point, has side'strips or legs a, which'are bent back above the top of the pen, and at their rear ends are connected by the cross piece or dam b. The side strips or legs straddle theslot a back of the slit .point of the pen, and the ink retained by the pocket thus formed drains through the slot 0 and the slit to the point.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A pen formed or provided upon its upper face with an ink retaining pocket consisting of the backwardly bent side legs a, and the cross piece b, as and for the purposes set forth.
