Be it known that I, SAMUEL CLnLANn DAVIDSON, of Sirocco Engineering orks, lelt'sst, Ireland, merchant, have invented certain new and useful Improved Pedestal- Boiirings, of which the following is n specificn-tion.
This invention relates to bearing pedestals for shafts and is particularly applicable for the bearings of fan shafts.

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A pedestal having a base, a top, a thin body portion extending upwardly from said base to said top, said body portion formed with a gap at its upper part, a lateral web extending along the edges of said gap, and a vertical web extending itcross said gap, and connecting the sides thereof together, said top having means for mounting a shaft longitudinally of said vertical web, and said gap being adapted to receive a shaft pulley, and to permit a downward extension of its belt.
2, A pedestal having a base, top, a thin body portion extending upwardly from said base to said top, and formed with n U-shoped gap, n lhinge on each side of said body portion, a lateral web extending along the edges of said gap and averticsl web extending across said grip and connecting the sides thereof together, said top having means for mounting n shztft longitudinally of said vertical web, and said gap being adapted to receive ashaft pulley and to permit a downward extension of its belt.
3. A pedestal having a base, a top, a thin body portion extending upwardly from said base to said top, said body portion formed with. a gap at its upper part, a lateral web ex tending along the edges of said gap, and a vertical web extending across said gap, and connecting the sides thereof together, said lateral web extending materially above the upper edge of said vertical web, and said top having means for mounting a shaft longitudinally of said vertical web, and said gap being adapted to receive a shaft pulley and to permit a downward extension of its belt.
