P. A.' PARIS. WRINKLE BRADIGATOR.
APPLICATION FILED AUG 31, 1907 W/T'SSES A MyW/wf@ ATTORNEYS- Y FLORA A. PARIS, OF NEW YORK, N. Y; g
\ 'W'.RINKLE-ERADICATOR.
No. 895,295. v
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, FLORA A. PARIS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Brooklyn, in t e county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in lrVrin'kle-Eradicators, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The pur ose of the invention is to provide a device or eradicating wrinkles from the human face, and to so construct the device that it will be exceedingly simple and light, and so that it can be expeditiously and conveniently applied and removed, and worn without material discomfort.
The invention consists in thenovel construction 'and combination of the several partsjas will be hereinafter fully set forth and pointed out in the claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings formin 7 a part of this specification inrwhich similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device; FiO.- 2 is a detail sectional view taken ractica y on the line 2 2 of Fi 1; and Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the device drawn upon a smaller scale and represented as app ied to a womans head.
The device is constructed entirely of a pliable material, with the exception of certain fastening devices that are by preference made of metal.
A re resents' a neck band or a band that is fitte to lie snu ly against the back of the neck, being of su icient length to extend at itsfront ends over the lower portions of the cheeks, and this neck band A is provided at its ends with tips 10 of an adhesive material, court-plaster, for example.'
A forwardly and upwardly extending head band B is attached at its central portion at its lower edge to the upper ed e of the ce1'4 responding portion'of t e neck and A, as is illustrated in Figs. 1 and 3, and this orwardly extending head band B has its forfhe said head band ward. end free, and the band is of sufhcient length to extend over the top or crown of the iead in such manner that its end portions` 12 will overlap, and the over-lapping ends 12 of B are connected by sn ordinary pin 13, a safety pin, or any equivalent thereof.
. In connection with the neck band A sind Specification of Letters Patent.
Application tiled August 31, 1907. Serial No. 390,982.
vcured to they said ba the forwardly extending head band B, a back band C is employed; thisback band is attached in any desired way to the central portion of the head band B, or that .portion l which is opposite the central rear portion of the neck, and the said back band C is of sufficient length to extend down along the forehead, and is provided at its forward or freey end with an adhesive tip'15. The forward portion of the back band C under-lies the over-lapped ends 12 of the head band B, and the said over-lap ed ends 12 are secls band by a similar means em loyed for connecting'said ends. The back and C is referably made in two sections connected lgy an elastic strip 14., which elastic strip isso located that it comes over the rear central portion of the head when the article is worn.
In connection with the back band CAI emloy a forwardly extending head band D. ll`his head band D consists of a rear member 16 that is secured by stitching or otherwise. Near the forward face of the back band C adjacent that point where the elastic strip 14 connects with the lower member of the back band, as is particularly shown in Fig. 1, forwardly extendin members 17 are employed in connection wit 1 the rear attached member 16, Aand these forwardly extending members 17 are adapted to pass 1n engagement with the inner ends -of the side members of the head band B, and terminate at their outer ends in adhesive tips 18 that are adapted to engage with the face of the wearer in the vicinity of the eyes, 'as is shown in Fig. 3. The construction of the forwardly extending headband D is completed by securing elastic strips 19 to the face of the rear attached section 16.3, and providing separable buttons 20, or their equivalents for adjust-ably connecting the said inserted 'elastic strips 19 with the forwardly extending sections 17 of the band B.
When the device is in position on the head of the wearer, it extends rearward exerting tension on the section of the face at those' points where wrinkles most occur, namely adjacent the eyes, the rear curves of. the mouth, and at the forehead, but I desire it to be understood that the terminal portions of the device extending over the face may be so shaped as to reach any particular portion of the face of thewearer needing especial ati tention. back band C relieves tension, and thead- 1 The inserted elastic strip 14 in the l l l l l instable connections between the forwardly Aextending section 17- of the forwardly extending heud band D and its rear section facllitates the 'fitting-of adevice to the head, v' and furthermore enables the wearer to increaseor decrease the tenslon at that portlon of the device. L
Having thus described my mventlon, I claim as new end desire to secure by Letters Patent,.
A wrinkle eradicator ccnslstmg of a neck band, a head band secured to the rear portion ofthe neckbend and extending upwardly and forwardly therefromz. a back band extending from the rear portion of the head band and u wsdly and forwardly from said band, said back band being connected -with the head bend and extending therebe- 'el4 Y [www] yOIld and havin im elasticsection inter.-l 'l posed in the lengt thereof, an auxiliary forwardly extending head band com rising two side sections and s. resr section, t rear section being secured to the back band an elas-A4 tic section being interposed between the side sections and the rear section, and adhesive tips beiner connected with the forward free ends of the neck band, back band and auxiliary head band.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence-of two subscribing witnesses. Y
FLORA A. PARIS.
