DEVICE FOR REMOVING FACIAL WRINKLES. APPLICATION FILED MAR. 22. I919.

UNITED STATES PATENT .oFnIoE.
nonon. L. EAGER, 0F BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
' 'DEVICE'LFOIR. REMOVING FACIAL wnmmms.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HONOR L. EAeER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Devices for Removing Facial Wrinkles, of which the following is a. specification.
This invention relates to a device for removing facial wrinkles and is adapted. to
accomplish this result with a minimum of discomfort to the user.
Considerable annoyance has accompanied the use of devices of this general character heretofore known, owing to the fact that they contact constantly with the head of I the wearer, causing chafing and irritation of the scalp, or they are provided with adhesive members for attachment to the skinof the face, and, in consequence, are apt to defeat the very object for which they are designed by preventing face circulation of blood inthe tissues under the skin which latter is necessary to such contour as to completely fill out the skin and remove wrinkles and fiabbiness.
The object of this invention is to provide a device forremoving facial wrinkles and double-chinand other blemishes due to depletion of the face tissues which causes looseness of the skin, and to make the device comfortable to. wear and non-injurious to the health of the wearer or to theparts with which it comes in contact. I
This purpose I; accomplish by constructing the device in such manner that it w1ll not contact with the head and face of the wearer except at the points of grip upon the facial skin.
Furthermore, I provide a device which may be worn'under and 'concealed by the hair of the wearer, thus permitting it to be worn at all times and prevent wrinkles and the like becoming reset in the skin as'is common when devices are used which may only be worn i private because of their unsightly appearance.
To. this end the invention consists in 'a' resilient band or strip of metal, or other suitable material having the requlslte skin-of the face, for example,'adjacent the ears, without injury thereto, and having Specification of Letters Patent.
which the device is substantially midway .of its length soft Patented Oct. 21, 1919. Application filed March 22, 1919. Serial No. 284,330.
cushion or pad to prevent contact of'the band or strip with the head of the wearer, and 1t conslsts further in means for adjusting the length of the bandor strip to the size of the wearers head, as I will proceed now to explain and finally claim.
I In the accompanying drawings illustrat-- ing the invention, in the several figures of which like parts are similarly-designated,
Figure '1 is a perspective view of the device.
Fig. 2 is a section taken through one of "the face engagmgpads. Fig. 3'is a partialsee- 1 tional plan view of one .of the'pads showing the adjusting means. Fig. A. is a plan view, and F 1g. 5 is a section on line 55,
Fig. 4 of a modification of the pad adjustblemishes. Fig. 7 is a side view of the same head showing the device of the invention in position and its effect, and Fig. 8 is a front view of the head showing the manner in positioned out of contact therewith.
ing'means. Fig. 6 is a side view of a womans head showing Wrinkles and other,
In the form of the invention shown in the drawings, I provide a band or strip 1 of resilient metal or other material suited to the purpose, suchas celluloid, hard rubber, or the like, and having attached to it sub stantially midway of its length a spacing! pad or cushion 2 of very soft, pliable material, adapted, when the'device is in position for use, to prevent contactof the band 01:
In Figs. e and 5 I have shown a modification of the adjusting means for the padsor cups 3, comprising a plate 7 having slits 8, I
the strip 9 formed between the slits being depressed and the arms 6' of the band 1 engaging the plate 7 beneath the side'portions 10 thereof, the depressed strip 9 acting asa friction, clutching device by engagement with the under side. of the ends of theband 1, to hold the pads or cups 3 in proper adjusted position. I A g In addition to its'function as a wrinkle remover, the device may be utilized for as-- sisting in dressing the hair of the user by wrapping the hair around it in any desired place or otherwise attaching the hair thereto; and it will be apparent that in this connection it is especially useful when false hair is worn.
Although I have shown and described a particular embodiment of the invention it is to be understood that I do not thereby limit myself, as various changes in details of construction and arrangement of parts are permissible within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the following claims.
What I claim is:
1. A device for removing facial wrinkles and the like, comprising a resilient band adapted to partially encircle the human head and face-engaging recessed pads applied to the ends thereof. I
' 2. 'A device for removing facial wrinkles and the like, comprising a resilient band adapted to partially encircle the human head, and adjustable fare-engaging recessed pads applied to the ends thereof. v
3. A device for removing facial wrinkles and the like, comprising a resilient band adapted to partially encircle the human head and having its free ends provided with extended arm-forming portions, and pad carrying members having recesses with which said arms are adapted to slidably connect, whereby said members may be adjusted on said resilient band.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HONOR L. EAGER.
