COMBINATION-TOOL.
Specification of Letters Patent Patented May 5, 1908.
Application filed November 22, 1907. Serial No. 403,297.
-To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that 1, JAMES M. KIEHLE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Coudersport, in the county of Potter and State of Pennsylvania, have made certain new and useful Improvementsin Combination-Tools, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in combination tools and consists in certain novel constructions and combinations of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
Referring to the drawings forming a part hereof-Figure 1 is a perspective view of the tool. Fig. 2 is a plan view. Fig. 3 is a section on the line 33 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is a detail perspective view of the poll and the staple pulling tool.
The present embodiment of my invention, comprises a flat shank A having near one end a pollvB, the free end of the shack being curved upwardly as at D, and slotted as at E to form a claw. The sides of the slot are flared sli htly outward as shown at Fig. 2, and are s arpened as at G. The side of the poll adjacent to the shank, is provided with a pin C projecting parallel with the said shank, and adapted to act as a sta le puller opposite end of the shank is ent at an angle to the shank proper as at N, and the free end of the angular portion is sharpened as at O and is adapted to act as a chisel or a screw driver. v
At the end of the shank pro er adjacent to the angular portion, is provi ed an opening The -H, and a slot K leads from the opening toward the opposite. end of the shank, and the edges-of'the slot are-turneddown as at M and sharpened. The slot and the ,hole, are adapted to serve as a nail puller in opening boxes. In using the nail puller, the tool is turned on the side withthe opening H directly above the nail, and the tool is pushed along I A tool comprising ashank having at one end a laterally projecting poll, and provided on the side of the poll facing toward the butt of theshank'with a pin approximately paral-- lel with the shank, and a claw extended beyond the back of the poll and curved outwardly and away from said poll, the curved part of the claw forming a fulcrum in pulling the staples and stretching wire in cooperation with the poll and pin, and the poll forming a fulcrum in cooperation with the plaw in the pperation of the latter, substantially as set orth.
