Be it-known that I, VIOLA MoELnEE, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new anduseful Improvements inEnvelops; and l do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the in -vention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to.whicli it appertain's tomake and use the same. p

y The primary object Aof this invention is to provide anenvelop with' a erfectly smooth interior, free 'from all'l edges iable to interfere' with the insertion or removal of the contents. And a further object is to provide an envelop ,wliich'will be securely 'closed at all its corners,

and so formed that the front will be readily ishable from the back, thereby avoiding a confusion in addressing and sealing; and further to provide an envelo wherein the contents can be inserted, the ap sealed,

In carrying out my invention I form the rear section 1 of exactly the same size as the. front section 2, the latter, however, having a slight cut-in at 3 along its upper free ed e. The rear section 1 is a continuation of t e yfront section 2, being folded back over the latter along the bottom line. vAfter the rear section is so folded, as shown in Fig. '2, formend section 4` (viewing the envelop from the rear) is folded over the outer face' of'rvear section 1, being secured thereto by paste applied to its two edges, as at 5. The end section 6 is formed along its upper edge with a sealing fiap 8 whic extends throughout the full length of the envelop,

From what has been said it will be seen' that the front and rear sectionsbeing of correspending formation, and folded one u on the other, and held by the end sections w lch are folded over the rear section, a perfectly smooth pobket is rovided, so that surre without disengaging the flap om the face of the envelop or destroying the latter in a manner that would be readily detected. My envelop also possesses the further advantage 'that the address side is perfectly smooth until 100- the flap is sealed thereon making it readily distinguishable from the rear side, and it may be addressed, the contents inserted, and the envelop sealed and stamped without the necessity of turning it over.

8, The herein described envelop comprising a front section and a rear section of substantielly corresponding formation, the rear section being folded upon the front section, two end sections extending from the ends of l the front section, seid end sections having each a diagonal extended edge and designed to he secured, one to the outer face of' the rear section and the other to the outer fece of said reer section and to the rst noted end section, and a sealing flap extended from the upper edge'of the secondnoted end section designed to fold over the edge of the front section.
