JANE E. PETTEE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
HOLDER FOR NURSING-BOTTLES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 19, 1907.
Application filed July 24. 1907. Serial No- 885.248.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JANE E. PETTEE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, New York city, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Holders for Nursing-Bottles, of'which the following is a, specification.
This invention relates to a holding device for bottles-and particularly to a holding device especially desi ned for use on nursing bottles, the object eing to provide a suitable sanitary device that may be readily applied to any form of nursing bottle, through the medium of which said bottle may be attached to any crib or carriage or other receptacle or vehicle employed in caring for a baby, and when so attached, be within convenient and easy reach of the baby and held against any attempt on the art of the user to eject the bottle or otherwise put it outof reach.
With this object in view the invention consists in the structure hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, Figure 1 represents the improved bottle holder applied to an ordinary cylindrical nursing bottle; Fig. 2 is a section through the holder showing one attaching ring or loop and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the holder seen in Fig. .1'.
Asis the common experience of those having the care of babies, one must be on the watch while the baby is feeding lest the bottlebe dropped over the edge of the crib or, in escaping rom the babys hands, roll to a distance such as cannot be recovered by the 'baby, thereby resulting in discomfort to him. This invention obviates all these difliculties by affording a secure attaching means whereby the bottle may be held in any suitable fixed position within easy reachfof the baby.
The device preferably consists of an elastic ring indicated at 5, most conveniently made of rubber. To this ring may be attached, or there may be formed upon it, rings or loops, as indicated at 6, through which may be passed any suitable attaching devices such as cord or ribbon to secure the holder and thereby the bottle in place in the crib, carriage or chair. These rings or loops are preferably attached at opposite sides of the holder so that the bottle may be secured a ainst the sides of the crib or carriage and w en so secured, will beheld in an upright position,
brin 'n the ni ple in convenient position for t e aby and when thus secured, the bottle cannot tip over nor be readily displaced by the bab The holder is made sufficiently smal er than the nursing bottle so that when applied thereto it W'lll hold its place upon the bottle and being elastic, it is readily applicable to bottles of various contours.
While it is preferable to make the holder of india' rubber so that it may be readily kept clean, it may obviously be made of any other material so lon as it is sufficiently flexible and elastic to Be readily applicable to all sorts of nursing bottles.
. The invention claimed is A nursing bottle holder consisting oi a flexible elastic belt provided with attaclnn loops or rings at the oppositesides thereo all substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JANE E. PETTEE.
