B. MANNING, or MIDnLE'roWN, coNNEc' picUT.
Letters Patent No. 86,849, dated Februar/ry 9, 1869.
IMPROVEMENT IN THE CONSTRUCTION 0F TEA-POTS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the Sams.
To all whom it may concern /F'Figure 2, vertical central section. .y
This invention relates to an improvement in the patentgranted to me August 18, 1868, for limprovement in tea and coffee-pot, the lobject being to construct a tea-pot with a metallic exterior and a mineral inner surface, in order to overcome the diculties which are experienced in teafdrawers with a metallic inner sur# face; and
The invention consists in the construction of a mineral or earthen pot, or body, and covering the exterior surface with suitable metal, which 'may Ybe formed thereon'.
To enable others to understand my invention, I will fully describe the same as illustrated in the accompa nying drawings.
l tirst form a pot, ofthe desired size and shape, from any suitable material of a mineral or earthen nature, and when the pot so tin-med is hard, either by baking, or other curing, then I cover the exterior surface with any suitable metal, as britannia, tin, Ste., spinning or otherwise fitting the metal covering to the earthen pot,
and attaching to the metala spout, handle, and cover, in the usual manner.
In fig. 2, a represents the earthen or mineral pot,
formed with `an opening at d, for the pouring out of the tea; the `metal covering, spout, and handle,` are represented in black, thus, in its external appearance, resembling in every Way a metal pot. Y
This construction is an 4improvement on my patent before referred to, inasmuch as it is cheaper, and presents a surface equally as unobjectionable.
Having fully described my invention,
What I claim as new and useful, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The herein-desclibedtea or coffee-pot, consisting of a mineral or earthen pot, covered externally with metal, substantially in the manner set forth.
