To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, P. A. LA FRANCE, of Elmira, Oheinung county, State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in -Wash-Founders, being an improved rubber bottom or pad for a washpounder; and I dovhereby.declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification.

Figure 2 shows the rubber pad disconnected om the pounder, it being a cross-section.

The object of this invention is to provide a more effective means to cleanse clothing and fabrics without injury, which is the only objection ever urged against the ordinary wooden pounder, owing to its hard, sharp, and unyielding edges coming in contact with frail and delicate fabrics, and the tearing oi' and breaking of buttons, 85o.
