To ail whom it may concern Be it known that I, Framers KRICK, of Fidelity, in

the county of Miami, in the State of Ohio, have invented a new and improved Lifting-Jack; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accon1' panying drawing, and the letters of reference marked thereon.

The nature of my invention consists in the arranging together two notched bars, one of which is moved by a lever, and to which is fastened a spring-catch to formed by the pin n, for the lever G, which has, for

its position, a place between the ears of the bar.

To the upper end of the lever is attached a stirrup, K, which is held by the bolt m.

To the lower end of the bar A isattached the guide E by the bolt 0, which also forms the fulcrum for the lever F. The spring-batch G is attached to the bar.

. Operation. I

By elevating the lever, the stirrup falls into the notches of the bar A; then by depressing the lever, this bar is elevated, and the spring-catch drops into successive notches as the bar is being elevated, and prevents a return of the bar. When it is desirable to I let the bar down, the spring-catch is thrown out by the lever F.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by- Letters Patent, is

The combination and arrangement of the bars A B, the lever C, stirrup K, guides E D, and spring-catch G, constructed substantially as and for the purpose specified.
