IMPROVEMENT IN CORN-HUSKING- PIN.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ELIAS BLAIR, of Buoyrus, in the county of Crawford, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and nsefiillmprovement in Corn-Huskers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification, v
The natm-e of my invention consists of the peculiarform of an'instrument for husking corn.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its constructionand operation.
A represents the body of the instrument, B B the blades, and C an eye through which the finger is in-' serted.
This eye may be made as represented in the drawing, or left open at either the front or back, as desired.
The eye 0 is placed over the finger, (usually the index-finger,) the body of the instrument being inside of the hand. It is made longer than the middle of the hand. The ends are flattened and made sharp.
Its operation is as follows:
The instrument is placed in the hand, as above described, the blade B inserted into the husks, and the thumb at the same time placed against them, (the husks being between the tlnunb and the blade,) and they can then be readily stripped oif.
It will be seen that there is a blade at each end of the instrument, the object of which being to adapt it
