Description

PATENTED JULY 31, 1906.
No. 827,493. v
WWEOOMQ AARON M. ADAMS, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
SOAP AND BRUSH HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 31, 1906.
Application filed June 21, 1905. Serial No. 266,328-
To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, AARON M.-ADAMs, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Soap and Brush Holder, of which the fol. lowing is a specification.
My invention consists of a holder for soap and brushes, the construction of parts being hereinafter described and the novel features pointed out in the claims.
Figure 1 represents a perspective View of a holder embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents a side elevation of a portion thereof. Fig. 3 represents a vertical section of a portion on line 90 00, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the figures.
Referring to the drawings, A designates a back or back-board to which is secured the soap-cup B, the tooth-brush holders 0, and the scrubbing or nail brush holder D.
The cup B consists of a body F and braces G G, of wire, being passed around said body and bent or doubled inwardly, forming lips H, which are driven into or inserted into the back A, the wire being continued into somewhat loop form, producing said tooth-brush holders 0, which occupy positions at the sides of the body F and are somewhat elastic or resilient, so as to press the handles of the brushes against said body at the inner sides of said holder, thus supporting the brushes in depending position, whereby they may readily drain and also may be conveniently removed and reapplied. I
Depending from the back A below the cup B is the said scrubbing or nail brush holder D, it being formed of wire and secured to said back by the staples J or other means and 1 provided with a jaw K, which embraces the I front of the head of said brush, while said head rests on the jaw L, which is connected with the back A by the staples M or other means, said jaw K being movable outwardly and inwardly owing to the resilient wires D, which carry the same, so that the brush may be readily removed and restored to its place of rest. It will be seen that the jaw L, on which the head of the brush is seated, throws out said brush from the back or carrier A, thus permitting the same to drain without the water running down said back.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A soap-cup formed of a body and a brace, a tooth-brush holder continuous of said brace and located exterior to the said body, the latter constituting a back for said holder.
2. A soap-cup formed of a body and a brace, a tooth-brush holder continuous of said brace and located exterior to said body, the latter constituting a back for said holder, a portion of said brace intermediate of the same and said holder being doubled on itself forming a connecting-lip.
3. A brush-holder composed of a jaw, a re silient support therefor and a stationary jaw and a backing with which said support and stationary jaw are connected.
4. A soap-cup, a carrier therefor, a stationary jaw on said carrier, a movable jaw opposite to said stationary jaw and a resilient support for said movable jaw continuous of said cup.
AARON M. ADAMS.
