To all whom it may concern/.-
Be it known that I, JonN WILLIAM HEN- SON, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Curtain-Looper, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to improvements in means for looping or draping curtains, particularly lace curtains, the object being to provide in connection with a curtain a drawstring so arranged that the body portion of the curtain may be looped or folded from the border outward, thus leaving the inner edge of the border in full view from the top to the bottom.
I will describe a curtain-looper embodying my invention and then point out the novel features in the appended claim.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the figure representing the invention applied.
The figure of the drawing shows a pair of curtains with looping devices embod mg my invention, one of the curtains being ooped.
Referring to the drawing, 1 designates a pair of curtains having a border 2 at their inner edges. Rove through the curtain mate rial from the inner edge of the border outward and at an upward angle on each curtain is a double draw-string 3. Preferably this draw-string will be arranged in a reinforcing portion 4, and at the outer end the drawstring is provided with a loop 5 for engaging with the usual fixture or hook attached to a window-casing.
In operation by drawing upon the inner end of the string the body of each or either curtain will be folded or looped, as indicated at the right-hand side of the drawin and the inner ends of the drawstring are then to be tied together, leaving the border in view from top to bottom.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The combination, with a curtain having a border at its inner edge, of a reinforce extended transversely from the border, and a draw-string in said reinforce.
