WILLIAM A. DAVIS, OF MANITOU, COLORADO.
BOTTLE ATTACHMENT.
Specicaton of Letters Patent.
. Patented March 2Q, 1906.
Application filed June 3, 1905. Serial No. 263,537.
.To @ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. DAVIS, a citizen of the United States, residin at Manitou, lin the county of El Paso an State of Colorado, have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottle Attachments, of which the following is a specification.
This invention 'relates to certain improvements in bottle attachments, .and 'has' for its object\to provide means whereby carryinghandles can be attached to bottles, by which the bottles can be easily transported from place to lace.
One o ject of the present invention is to apply handles to bottles having closures of the pivoted-lever type or types of closures requiring a binding or securing wire or band to secure the closure to the bottle, usually secured upon the neck of the bottles, with only a slight alteration of the binding wire or band.
Another object is to affix a handle to a bottle in a simple and inexpensive manner, and a further object is to provide means whereby a handle can be attached to or detached from a bottle, as necessity demands.
These objects I attain by the means illustrated 'in the accompanying drawings, in
which- Figure 1 represents a Vportion of a bottle with my invention applied. Fig. 2 represents a sectional view taken on the line 2 2 of Fig.l 3 represents a view of the handle detached with an enlarged hand-grasp or spool, and Fig. 4 a view of the handle ,detached having the hand-grasp flattened.
In the drawings, A designates the neck of a bottle having the usual head B.
The bottle is provided with the usual type of pivoted-lever closure, consisting of the stopper C, pivoted bail D, the pivoted locking and unlocking lever E, and the securingwire F, provided with the eyes G at opposite neck.
y twisted together to fasten it securely in place.
. It can be seen from the foregoing how easily I provide means for attaching a handle to a bottle having the usual type of closure, by simply changing the securing wire. The means are supplied for attaching a handle without affecting the closure device and its operating means.
f The handle thus provided does not interfere with the closure device in any manner. The bottle can be carried properly whether open or closed, and at all times the carrying strain is upon the securing-wire and bottle- Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Iatent, is- A securing wire or band for attaching a closure device to a bottle, provided with two sets of eyes on opposite sides of the bottle, one eye of each set adapted to receive the ends of a closure device the other eye of each set adapted to receive the ends of a handle.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
l WILLIAM A. DAVIS.
