- IMPROVEMENT IN SADDLE-TREES.
Specification forming part cf Letters Patent No. 81,022, dated August ll, 1868.
` To all whom, it may concern:

The saddletree is constructed with two seatframes or sets of side bars, b and c. Thelower set, c, are rigidly attached to bow a, and are joined in the rear by a suitably-arched connection. J and J', to bow a, and are connected in the rear by the cant-le. The bars b rest 0n special The upper set of bars, b, are hinged, at

A metal standard or upright, c, is rigidly attached to the lower frame by means of the plate u, on which upright a metal plate or loop, t, attached to the rear Of the cantle, slides, in the vertical play of the upper frame on its springs, thus steadying said frame, and preventing any lateral motion thereof.
Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the hinged frame b, upright e, and plate t, with frame c and bow a, when constructed as described.
