Description
No. 809,697. PATENTED JAN. 9, 1906. H. F. KEILL TRACK 0R WAY.
APPLIOATION FILED JULY 19, 1904.

STA ES rnnr @FFIGE HENRY FRANCIS 'KEIL, OF BRONXVILLE, NEW YORK.
TRACK OR WAY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented J an. 9, 1906.
Application filed July 19, 1904. Serial No. 217,194.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY FRANCIS KEIL, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Bronxville, in the county of Westchester and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Track or Way, of which the following is aspecification, the same being a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to lines of rails or tracks or Ways constructed and arranged to serve as a bearing and guide for wheels, sheaves, &c., on which the latter may be run, and in particular toa track having an O-shape hollow head; and it has for its object the pro duction of a structure formed of sheet metal stamped out and formed up into the proper shape in order to provide a light as well as strong and durable, although inexpensive, track.
With this object in View the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combination and arrangement of parts, all of whichwill be hereinafter described, and specifically pointed out in the drawings which accompany and form a part of this specification, in which Figure l is a view in perspective of a form of track constructed according to my invention. Fig. 2 is an end view of the same, and Figs. 3 and4 are respectively perspective and end views of another track in which my invention is embodied.
Likeletters of reference indicate like parts in all the views.
Referring particularly to the drawings, A denotes a plate constructed, preferably, of wrought metal and first blanked out or otherwise made of suitable shape and thickness and then'formed up so as to have an O-shape hollow head A- and an undercut neck or web a. The track just described is adapted for use on a horizontal support, as a floor, and by making the neck or webv longer and forming a right angle in the same the track may be constructed and arranged to be used on a vertical support, as a wall. In Figs. 3 and 4, for example, the plate B is made with a longneck or Webb 6, surmounted with an integral 0- shape. hollow head B. The neck or web 6 may obviously be bent at any angle orseries of angles to the base in order that the head may be constructed and arranged to properly form the base for the said track.
As it is evident that many changes in the construction, form, proportion, and relative arrangement of parts might be resorted to without departingfrom the spirit and scope of my invention, I would have it understood that I do not restrict myself to the particular construction and arrangement of parts shown and described, but that such changes and equivalents may be substituted therefor and that What I claim as my invention is 1. As a new article of manufacture, atrack or Way constructed from one piece of sheet metal and comprising in its construction securing-plates, a tubular head, and an intermediate bipartite neck orvweb located in a different plane from that of the securing-plates, whereby unobstructed undercut paths or passages are'formed below the head, both the sides and top of which are constructed and arranged to form bearings for a Wheel.
2. As a new article of manufacture a track whereby the latter is disposed at a distance from said securing-plates and in a plane'parallel thereto, whereby unobstructed undercut paths or passages are formed below the head, both the sides and top of which are constructed and arranged to form bearings for a- Wheel.
In testimony of the foregoing specification I do hereby sign the same, in the city of New York, county and State of New York, thisv 26th day of June, 1904.
HENRY FRANCIS KEIL.
