NOZZLE FOR TOBACCO-BAGS.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MAYER GRANAT, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Nozzles for Tobacco-Bags, of which the following is a, specification.
My invention pertains to normallyclosed discharge-nozzles for tobacco-bags and the like; and it consists in the-peculiar and advantageous nozzle hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the claim appended.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of thisspecificatiomFigure, 1 is a longitudinal section illustrating my novel nozzle properly arranged relative to a tobacco-bag Fig. 2 is an enlarged perspective view of the nozzle as it appears when removed from the bag. As will be readily gatheredfrom the fore going, the outer portion of each of the leversections of the nozzle is of an even width throughout itslength and is provided with a free end or edge whichis squarer. e. straight and disposed at right angles to the lengthof the nozzle. From this it follows that when the outer arms of the lever-sections are moved apart a large passage is afforded for the tobacco in discharging a bag or refilling the same.
It will also be gathered from the foregoing that the terminal armsof the coiledspring bear upwardly against the bases f of the arms (2, and hence are enabled to exert considerable leverage, with the result that the free upper ends or edges of the lever-sections are tightly held together, so as to preclude the casual escape of tobacco.
It will be further-noticed that my novel nozzle is compact and is well adapted to withstand the usage to which such devices are ordinarily subjected. v
Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,
