To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, AXEL E.`MossBERG, a citizen of the United States, residing at VVestpoint, in the county of Cuming, State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Spring Attachments for Oil-Cans; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. f
This invention relates to oil cans and particularly those of the compressible bottom type.
The object of the invention. resides in the provision of an oil can of the character named which includes a spring attachment for controlling the compressibility of the bottom thereof, and in providing means whereby said spring attachment may be adjusted so as to vary the force necessary to effect the compression of the bottom of the can.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and particularly*pointed out in the appended claim.

Referring to the drawing, A indicates the body of an oil can which may be of anyde-l sired shape. This body is provided with a compressible bottom 10 and a threaded tu bular projection 11 at its upperA end.. Removably mounted in the threaded tubular projection 11 is a tapering discharge spout 12.

By this construction it will be apparent that upon removal of the spout 12 a nail ,can be inserted in one of the openings 14 for the purpose of effecting the rotation of the tube relatively to the spring. o
What is claimed is:
Thecombination with an oil can including a body having a flexible bottom adapted to be depressed to effect the dischargeof oil from the can, said body having a threaded opening therein, a discharge spout having one end removably mounted in said open,- ing, a perforated tube extending through said opening with one end disposed exteriorly ofthe body in the bore of the spout and engaging the inner ,walls thereof, and the other end disposedwithin spring encircling the end of the the body and bearing against the bottom thereof, a pin extending transversely through vthe tube anddisposed `between the coils of said spring whereby the rotation4 of the tube relatively to the spring will'move., the latter longitudinally of the tube`and varythetension .of the spring against the bottom of the body. y
