Be it known that I, 'GEORGE W. PRUYNE, of Mexico, Oswego county, and State of New York,4 have mode new and useful Improvementsin Channelling-Tools, for hnrness-makers or other leather-workers use; and I hereby declare .the following to be a. fnll and exact description'of the same, reference being had to the drawings that accompany and form`n part of these specifications, l

The object of my invention is to provide a. tool for-cutting ein even channel in leather, for stitching, when we desire to have the stitches covered and out of sigh't.-

Letter A, lower part of the tool, in which a. slot, e, is formed, to insert` the knife, nd the slide by' which the knife is held in place. v l

Letter D, knife.

The knife is placed-in thelo'wer part of the slot e, and can be adjusted to cnt enydethythe slide B, by the operation of' the set-screW-G, holding it at anypoint desired. I The mrt-extending below theknife formsa shoulder and guide, to be placed against the edge of the leather.

By reference to the drawings, the application of the -tool will be readily seen.
