, SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 761,589, dated May 31, 1904.
Application filed October 9, 1903.
To all whom; it may concern.-
Be it known that I, TIIoMAs WILLIAM J OHN- soN, a citizen of the United States, residing at North Attleboro, in the State of Massachu setts, have invented. a new and useful Improvement in Bracelets, of which the follow- I the bracelet is'formed. Fig. 6 represents an edge view of the same. Fig. 7 represents the transverse section of a woven Wire tube formed of thestri-ps.
' In the drawings, Figs. 5 and 6, A represents a flat strip of Woven Wire of which the outer covering 'of the bracelet is to be formed, a
cross-section of a tube B, formed of the same by passing the strip A through the circular opening of a draw-plate, being shown in Fig.7. The woven-wire tube B so formed is to be Serial No. 176,483. (No model.)
divided into lengths suitable to form a bracelet and a flat spring C, made in bracelet form, of steel, German silver, or other suitable material, inserted therein, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4:, the longitudinal seam D being arranged at the inner edge of the bracelet, so as to be hidden when the bracelet is held upon the wrist ofthe wearer. When the flat spring C has been inserted into the tubular woven-wire covering B, the connected parts are to be drawn through the circular opening of a drawplateto slightly embed the edges (0 a of the spring G into the inner surface of the covering B, as shown in Fig. 4, thus preventingthe turning of the covering upon the spring and maintaining the open seam D at the inner edge of the bracelet. Suitable knobs E E or other ornaments are attached to the ends of the spring to form a finish for the lapped ends of the bracelet.
I claim as my invention In a bracelet, the combination of the tubu lar woven-wire covering, drawn up from fiat stock, and the flat spring within the covering, substantially as set forth.
