Be it known that I, RAYMOND L. TORREY, a citizen `of the United States, residingl at Attleboro, in the county of Bristol and State' of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Belt Bands, of which the following. is a specification.

The object of this invention is to provide a metal belt loop or band comprising a .strip of metal folded to provide' spaced apart front and back plates and having its ends locked together by the folds of the metal and adapted to be mounted on al belt, the

band being provided with a projecting eye'-l into which one end of a watch chain may be connected. v

IVith this and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, as will be more fully described, and particularly pointed out 1n the appended claims.

' In some instances where theV coat and waistcoat are removed and a belt is worn about the waist, it is found of advantage to pro.- vide some means by which the free end of -the watch'chain may b e connected to the belt to prevent losing the watch, and to accomplish this purpose, I have formed a band of metal folded' to form a band or loop to embrace the belt and which is provided with an outturned end having an eye therein to` which the end of the chain may be readily attached. Further, I have formed the` band of a single piece of metal which maybe tformed complete without the use of solder; and the following is a detailed description of one construction of such band by which i by folding a` strip of Ymetalrupon itselfto the desired results may be obtained :-'-v

`constructed of sheet metal folded so as `to provided with a narrow .tongue 17, a porf tion of which is turned inwardly towards the front plate', and the extremity of'this tongue is turned outwardly at substantially a right angle to the inturnedportion to eX- tend through a slot 16 in the opposite end member 15 and this tongue is provided near its end 18 with a hole 19 to which theend of a watch chain 20 may be attached.

By this construction it will be Seen that the whole band is formed of a single piece of metal and is formed completely by folding the strip constructed into the required shape having one end passed through an eye in its opposite end to lock these Vends together and alsotoprovide an attaching eye to which the watch chain is attached. v

By this construction, it will be seen that the device is formedentirely without `the use of solder which is of great advantage;

hard metal which maybe completely bent into and permanently retain the shape into f first, because the same may be formed of a whichit is bent; second, by avoiding the use y of solder the temper is notdrawn from the.
