SUPPORTING FRAME OR TRELLIS.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 753,046, dated February 23, 1904.
' Application filed March 25, 1902.
Be it known that I, Aueusr CoR'rs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wyncote, county of Montgomery, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Supporting Frames or Trellises, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of an improved device for readily fastening cross-bars and other cross members for various purposes.
My invention further consists of the details of construction hereinafter fully described and claimed.

A loop N is formed integral with and extends horizontally from the end of the member D, the free end Q of said loop extending beyond the member E sufiiciently to engage the upright P, as shown. The angular members D and E form a crotch or fulcrum, which is placed on one side of the upright P, while the said members themselves are curved or angular to pass around the opposite side of the horizontal member N, andthe hook then fastens upon the opposite side of the upright P or upon the side with which the fulcrum or crotch Serial No 99,872. (No model.)

It is understood that to fasten the hook G to the upright P it is necessary to press the arm to one side to create a tension upon the horizontal member N, the dimensions of the parts being gaged to accomplish this. The end portion Q of the loop N passes between the members D and E and upright P and is held in engagement therewith by the members D and E, arm F, and hook Gr.
It will be evident that various changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the general spirit of my invention, and I do not, therefore, desire to be limited in each case to the same.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination with a supporting member, a fastening device consisting of a loop,one end of which is provided with members constituting a crotch that is situated on one side of said supporting member and with an arm having means for engaging the same side of said supporting member, the other end of said loop being situated between said crotch members and said supporting member on the side of the latter opposite to that engaged by said crotch. q
