POOL-BALL PLACER AND HOLDER.
' SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 752,292, dated. February 1 6, 39%.
.pplication filed October 23,190?- :To all whom. *Lmay concern.-
Be it known that I, PKUL JUSCHKE, a citizen the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and "useful Improvements in Pool-Ball Placers and Holders, of which the following is a specification,
which itappert-ains to make and use the same. The object of this invention is to provide an improved device for holding pool-balls and thus injuring the cloth with which the table the pockets and from which the said balls may table; and with these and other objects in class specified, constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which the nated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which--- Figure 1 is a plan View of adevice embodying my invention; Fig. 2, a cross-section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3, a view similar to Fig. 2, but showing the balls in a different position; and Fig. 4, a view of a detail of the construction.
In the practice of my invention I provide a triangular frame a of the same'form as those usually employed in placing pool balls "in propcr position on a table, and the said triangular frame is provided in opposite sides thereof with holes/1. through which are passed fingers or rods 11, connected by a handpiocc 7: The fingers or rods l) are preferably triangular in cross-section, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, and the holes in the sides oftho frame a are similarly formed.

In practice the fingers or rods 6 are passed entirely through the triangular frame a and the balls are collected and placed in said frame and rest on said fingers or rods, and when it is desired to place the balls on the table at the beginning of a game the said frame is placed exactly where it is desired to deposit the balls not rest on the fingers or rods 6, and the withdrawal of said fingers or rods does not in any way interfere with the balls.
When the balls are in proper position in the frame, they are placed in transverse rows, as shown in Fig. 1, and in order for the fingers or rods 5 to support the balls in said frame there must be four of said fingers or rods, as is aiso shown in the drawings.
By means of my improvement I provide a frame, or,as itis usually called, a triangle, in which the balls may be placed when they are taken from the pockets of the table and which may be supported on a rack or any other support and from which they may be deposited on the tablein the exact position desired whenever necessary, and I thus avoid thenecessity of providing other forms of supports or holders for the balls and at the same time prov de means whereby the said balls may be properly positioned 'on the table at the beginning of the game without the necessity of sliding the triangle around over the cloth with which the table is provided.

To w ll whomi'imay concern.-
Be it known that I, PKUL JusoHKE, acitizen the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and riseful- Improvements in Pool-Ball Placers and Holders,0f which the following is a specification,
which itappertains to make and use the same. The object of this invention is to provide an improved device for holding pool-balls and thus injuring the cloth with which the table a triangular holder for pool-balls in which the I latter may be placed when they are taken from the pockets and from which the said balls may be deposited in their proper position on the table; and with these and other objects in class specified, constriicted as hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which the nated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which-- Figure 1 is a plan view of a'device embodying my invention; Fig. 2, a cross-section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3, a view similar to Fig. 2, but showing the balls in a different position; and Fig. 4, a view of a detail of the construction.
In the practice of my invention I provides usually employed in placing pool-balls "in proper position on a table, and the said'triangular frame is provided in opposite sides thereof with holes/r through which are passed lingers or rods 6, connected by a handpicce 71". The lingers or rods 1/ are preferably triangular in cross-section, as shown in Figs. Q-and 3, and the holes in the sides of. the frame a are similarly formed.
The hand piece 7? is prefcrabl y provided with a flange member If, bytehich it may be ma Serial No. 178,192. (No model.)
nipulated, and in practice the rods or fingers are passed through the triangular frame 0;, and in Fig. l of the drawings that part of the de- Vice represented by the fingers or rods F) and the handpiece 5 is shown partially withdrawn in full lines.
In practice the fingers or rods c are passed entirely through the triangular frame a and the balls are collected and placed in said frame and rest on said fingers or rods, and when it is desired to place the balls on the table at the beginning of a game the said frame is placed exactly where it is desired to deposit the balls and the fingers or rods 7) are withdrawn and the balls drop onto the table in their proper position. Before placing the frame on the table the bottom surfaces of the balls, which are shown at 0, project slightly below the bottom of said frame, as shown in Fig. 2, and when theframeis placed on the table the balls are slightly raised, as shown in Fig. 3, and do not rest on the fingers or rods Z1, and the withdrawal of said fingers or rods does not in any way interfere with the balls.
Whenthe balls are in proper position in the frame, they are placed in transverse rows, as.
shown in Fig. 1, and in order for the fingers or rods Z to support the halls in said frame there must be four of said fingers or rods, as is also shown in the drawings.
By means of my improvement I provide a frame, or,as it is usually called, a triangle,in which the balls may be placed when they are taken from the pockets of the table and which may be supported on a rack or any other sup port and from which they may be deposited on the table'in the exact position desired whenever necessary, and I thus avoid the necessity of providing other forms of supports or holders for the halls and at the same time prov de means whereby the said balls may be properly positioned on the table at the beginning of the game without the necessity of sliding the triangle around over the cloth with which the table is provided.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire tosecure by Letters Patent, is y r A device oi the class described, comprising
