DENTAL-INSTRUMENT TRAY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 6, 1909.
Application filed December 1, 1908. Serial No. 465,543.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JonAN BnUN, a suitject of the King of Norway, residing at Christiania, Norway, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dental-Instrument Trays; and I do herehy declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact descrip tion of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference i' eing had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference markedthereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to dental instrument trays and consists in connecting the tray proper with its frame, in such way, that it can lee easily detached. Hereby is attained that the tray as well as theframe and the stand can he better and more easily cleaned and disinfected. For this purpose the frame is so shaped, that the tray can he inserted in slots or grooves provided in the frame and when pushed right in, will he firmly held in position by the support device of the instruments which is made as a fourth side of the frame and forms a list movable up and down.
My invention is illustrated in the annexed drawing, Figure 1 being a vertical section through the tray, while Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same with the instrument support in its raised position and the tray partly pulled out of its frame.
In the form. of device shown in the drawing the frame supporting the tray A is composed of three tuhular portions B slotted at their inner sides, and of the supporting device C of the instruments. The latter device is provided with ears I), by which it can be pivotally connected to the frame, so that, when swung down, as shown in Fig. 1, it constitutes the fourth side of the frame, and consequently retains the tray A in the slots of the frame, while when swung; back into the position shown in Fig. 2, it allows the tray to he removed. In its closed position, as shown in Fig. 1, said supporting device is prevented from dropping by means of the projections E provided on the same.
It appears from the above description that an instrument tray constructed. in accordance with my invention can he easily cleaned and disinfected all over, while otherwise the joints ietween the tray and the frame tend to accumulate impurities which are difficult to remove.
Claims.
1. Dental instrument tray comprising: a four-sided frame, three side pieces of which are provided on their inner sides with. grooves adapted to receive the tray proper, and the fourth side-piece heing pivoted to its adjacent side-pieces and adapted to be raised to a position to permit the removal of the tray proper from the frame, while preventing the removal of the tray proper when in its normal position.
Dental instrument tray comprising a four-sided frame, three side pieces of which are provided on their inner sides with grooves adapted to receive the tray proper, and the fourth side-piece heing' pivoted to its adjacent side pieces and adapted to he raised. to a position to permit the removal of the tray proper from the frame, while preventing the removal of the tray proper when in its normal position, the said fourth side piece having in its upper edge notches, or the like, for separately supportii'ig different instruments, when in its normal position.
3. Dental instrument tray comprising a four-sided frame, three side pieces of which are provided on their inner sides with grooves adapted to receive the tray proper, and the fourth side-piece heing pivoted to its adja cent side-pieces and adapted to be raised to a position to permit the removal of the tray proper from the frame, while preventing the removal of the tray proper when in its normal position, the grooved side pieces of the frame being made of tubular rods.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention, I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JOHAN BRUN.
