Be it known that'I, lSAMUEL GREEN, of the city, ccunty,` and State of New York,v have invented a new 'and `useful Improvement in Hernia-Truss pand I' d'o hereby declare` that the following is a full, clear, and exact description'thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had' to the accompanying drawings, .forming lapart of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of` my improved truss.V

This invention relates to an improvement the'construction of a truss forruptures of' the bowels, or hernia, and consists in a. novel and simple combination of springs and pds'with the main supporting-bars, as herein- 'after more particularly described.V vThis is'a cheap, eii`ective, and convenient truss, especially adapted to labor ing men.

It will be observed that when the truss is attached to4 the personl of a. patient, the main strain produced by any movement of the body willbe exerted directlyon the springs c c, by tliemain plates AA, while the pads C C will hear ligbtly'and evenly at all times upon the rupture, by means ofthe light springs la t, which :are entirely relieved from directstrain by the movement ot' the body, and thus the rupture will be'protected and guarded against anyundue pressure or derangement of the pads. n

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to `secure by Letters Patent, is-
