Description

PATENTLD MAYV 19, 190s.
J. KNLHANBK'. PROVISIONAL QN PERMANENT WALL.
APPLICATION FILED 00T.13, 1902.
l0 MODEL.
UNITED, STATES Patented May 19,1903.
PATENT OFFICE.
PROVISIONAL OR PERMANENT'WALL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Lettersflatent No. 728,472, dated May 19, 1903.
Application filed October 13, 1902. Serial No. 127,135. (N0 model- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, .IAN KULHNEK, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, residing at Prague, Austria-Hungary, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Provisional or Permanent Walls, of which the following is a specification.
The object of the present invention is to provide new construction of provisional or permanent Walls for buildings erected for temporary or permanent use. Such walls preferably consist of narrow parallel sheathings between which at suitable distances studs in the shape of pipes or tu-bes and preferably of square cross-section are arranged, in which studsvertical rods may be embedded having their upper parts firmly connected by rails.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, Figure l shows such a wall in perspective View. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section. on line C D of Fig. 1. Fig. 4t is a cross-section on line E F of Fig. 1.
In building the improvedv walls two paral-Yy lel sheathings c. and b are erected upona` .titions join the Walls I erect posts or studs in the form of tubes n, preferably made of the same material as the sheathings. The studs 'nl are connected with each other and with the plates of the sheathin gs in any ordinary manner, as by nails, screws, dac. In the tubular studs fnfvertical rods p are placed, and then Fig. 3 is a cross-section beton, grout, or mortar isilled in, so as to form compact pillars q.
In places where it is necessary for the strength of the building horizontal rails r Aare employed to connect the vertical rods p.
The rails and rods, which may be made of metal or any/other suitable material, may be 'connected in any convenient manner-for instance, as indicated in the drawings.`
The empty spaces between adjacent studs Vmay be filled with any insulating or iireproof material, such as asbestos fiber or sand with or without the addition of mortar, or may be left empty, if desired.
Walls erected in the described manner posl sess great stability, are fireproof and nonheat-conducting, and may be used with adinner and outer surfaces, Ytubular studs between the inner and outerv sheathing, mortar lling said studs, metal rods embedded in the mortar filling, and cross-rails connecting the rods of adjacent studs, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
JAN KULHNEK.
