TO ALL WHGM IT MAY CONGERN:

Be it known that I, FRANCIS C: LEVALLEY, of Warner-ville, in the county vof Schoharie, and Stateof New York, have invented a new and improved Door-Fastenerf and I do hereby declare that the following is a.

full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those .skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, 'forming part of .this specification.

-The present invention relates to a fastener for doors more particularly, which, inthe-construction and arrangement of its parts, is simple, and most eifective and secure when fastened. In the accompanying plate of drawings my improved door-fastener is illustrated- Figure l being a. plan view of the same, and

Figure 2 a section taken in the plane of the linea: ar, iig. 1.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

A, in the drawings, represents my improved door-fastener, made in two parts or sections, B and C, one of which is applied to the door, and the other to the door-frarne, in proper position, relatively, for the fasteningdevices of each to interloclf. with each other, arranged and operating as will be now describld.

The part B to the fastener consists of a plate, D,secnred, by screws or other\vise,rto the door-face, with the caselor tube E on its under side countersunk in such door.. F, a wedge arranged to slide in case E, lwhich wedge has Aa knob or handle, G, secured to it, thatproj'ects through a slot, H, in the plate D.

'The part C is formed of a plate, I,'provided with -a case, J, upon its under side, which, when the plate is secured to the'door-frame, is -countersnnk therein. In -t-his case J, a catch-lever is arrangedv to slide, a knob, L,

being provided for vconvenience in moving it, which knob projects through a slot, M, in the plate I. N,Va bent spring arranged to bear against the under side of catch K.,and to force it up, over the edge O, to thefront side of the plate D of the part B to the fastener, where, if *che wedge-bolt F be then slid forward nnderthe said catch, it will be there firmly held and fastened. v

I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- Tline sliding wedge-bolt F, in combination with the sliding spring-'catch K, and cases E J, as herein described for the purpose specified.
