STRING-TICKET FASTENER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 708,756, dated September 9, 19Q2. Application filed August 1 7, 1901. Serial No. 72,362.- (No model.) I

To a whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, SIMON DANOYGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in String-Ticket Fasteners; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention,which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the figures of reference marked thereon,which form a part of this specification.

My invention relates to improvements in string-ticket fasteners, the features of which will be hereinafter described and claimed.

The object of my invention is the construction of a wire fastener to which the strings of marking-tickets can be readily attached and is detached only with some difficulty.

The object of the invention is accomplished by the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a top View of the device with a string-tag attached. Fig. 2 is a side View of the device with the point bent at a right angle to its shaft.

Like numerals designate like parts in the two views.

The fastener is formed of a piece of wire and comprises the pointed shaft 3 and the loops 1 and 2, forming the engaging head. The loop 1 is formed by bending the wire in a circle, then crossing the shaft, and forming the like loop 2, with the end abutting the shaft. In this form the fastener is simply stuck into the fabric to which attachment is desirable. Avariable form is shown at Fig. 2, the shaft is bent at 4:, and then the point 5 stands at a right angle to said shaft. In this form to attach the fastener the point is passed through the material a second time, and then said point is pressed down against the'same and'is then securely held. To the ticket or tag 6 is attached the string 7. To attach the string to the fastener, a loop is thrown over the head of the same, and when drawn it occupies the space inthe loop 1, as shown at Fig. 1, and'to detach the same the string would have to be carried around across the shaft and make the circuit of loop 2 and be released at the end.

What I desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. The fastener of wire comprising the pointed shaft, the like loops 1 and 2 forming the head, the former loop crossing said shaft and the end of the latter terminating contiguously to the former, substantially as described.

2. The fastener of wire comprising the pointed shaft with point bent at a right angle, the loops 1 and 2 forming the head, the former loop crossing said shaft and the end of the latter terminating contiguously to the former, substantially as described.
