TOLMAN,.citizens of the United The guard consists, preferably, of a single step of sheet metal of the generalshape shown in Fig. 1, which may be punched and bent to its final form by a single operation of suitable machinery, or it may be made of cast metal or of other suitable material,
The central longitudinal body B is left dat and is formed with a straight edge, which is bent downwardly, as shown at C, so as to cause the body B to stand away from the working surface D, against which the guard is pressed, so as to prevent paint or other liquids from being drawn under the edge by capillary attraction. which the gnardis held against the wall or other surface. A hole a is provided. in the handle A, by which the guard may be hung up when not in use.
Having described our invention,we claim-v-4 A painters guard or wall-protecting device consisting of a longitudinal with a straight downwardly-bent edge C at one side, whereby liquids are prevented front being drawn under the body, and an opposite upwardly-bent side A forming ahandle whereby the tool is grasped, as described.
