To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ISMAEL HEBERT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Manchester,in the county of Hillsboro and State of New Hampshire, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pillow-Sham Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in pillow-sham holders; and it consists in a certain peculiar construction the novelty, utility, and ad vantages of which will be fully understood from the following description and claims when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which-- Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating my improved sham-holder in its proper operative position on a bedstead; Fig. 2, an enlarged section illustrating one of the bracketarms of the improvements andthe clips through the medium of which said arm is connected to the head-post of the bedstead; Fig. 3, a side elevation of the same; Fig. 4, a detail perspective view of the clip.

B bracket-arms designed to be connected to and extend forwardly from said posts and having circular recesses a in their inner sides and also having transverse apertures b in communication with said recesses, and C a swinging sham-frame. The frame 0, constructed and mounted on the bedstead in the manner described, is obviously adapted when it is desired to make or use the bed to be readily swung upwardly and out of the way and when it' is desired to cover the pillows with the shame to be as readily swung down into the position shown in Fig. 1. TheseT-heads are designed for the connection of clips D, and when they are placed as shown best in Fig. 2 their recesses 1c receive the head posts Aandenable The clips D, by preference, respectively comprise a bow Z, which is formed of sheet metal, so as to enable it to readily conform to and snugly hug the head-post of a bedstead, and is provided at its ends with integral barrels m, preferably closed at their inner ends, and bolts n, brazed or otherwise secured in the barrels and projectingfrom the same.

In assembling the parts on a bedstead the clips D are placed on the head -posts A, and their screws are passed through the aperturesj of the bracket-arms B and connected thereto by nuts 10, when the bracket-arms will be securely fixed on the head-posts and held against casual vertical or lateral movement or displacement. By virtue of the construction of the arms B and clips D it will be observed that the arms may be quickly and easily fixed on the head-posts A and as readily disconnected and removed therefrom; also,

Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In the pillow-sham holder described, the bracket-arms having circular recesses in their inner sides adjacent to their outer ends, and transverse apertures in the outer walls of said recesses,and also having T-heads at their inner ends, recessed at k and provided with apertures j, the swinging sham-frame comprising su pporting-bars adj ustably connected together, and having circular disks at their outer ends journaled in the recesses of the bracket-arms, and wires connected to and carried by said bars, trunnion-screws passed through the transverse apertures of the bracket-arms and into the ends of the bars of the sham-frame, resilient,sheet-metal clipbows adapted to straddle the head-posts of a bedstead, and having integral barrels at their ends, and bolts secured in said barrels and adapted to be passed through the apertures of the bracket-arms, and nuts on said bolts.

2. In the pillow-sham holder described, the bracket-arms having T-heads at their inner ends, recessed at 70 and having apertures j, a swinging sham-frame journaled in said arms, clips adapted to straddle the head-posts of a bedstead and comprising resilient, sheetmetal bows, barrels formed integral with the bows at the ends thereof, and bolts secured in said barrels and adapted to be passed through the apertures of the bracket-arms, and nuts on said bolts.
