IMPROVEMENT IN NECK-YOKR @te rlgnml marsh tu im tigen tttet ndert nu mating am nf tige arme.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONOERN:
Beit known that I, W. B. CHAPMAN, of' the village of Waukau, county of Winnebago, and State of Wis- 4 consin, have invented a new and improved Neck-Yoke; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full andl exact descriptionthereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, andthe letters of reference marked thereon, wherein Figure 1 is a perspective view. Figure 2 is a perspective view of the hinged metallic clasp-plate B, g. 1. Figure 3 is a perspective view ofthe pole-ring In', iig. 1. Figure 4 is a vertical section of the hold-back strap, loop, and holder C, iig. 1. A is a neck-yoke, with dat grooves turned at the centre and ends'simila-r to some in common use; Bis a metallic clasp hinged at h. The upper part is tubular in form, so as to clasp and work freely on the central groove in A. The lower parts are perforated with screw-holes, and one hole in the centre, of ailarger size, to
receive the end of the carriage-pole. The lower plate B1 is flanged, as seen at e e, iig. 2. b is a pole-ring, made of i leather, rubber, or other material, with holes perforated to correspond with those in tlg. 2, and is of a size and mould to iit in the ilanged clasp or housing B1. When inserted therein, o 0,*tig. 2, is clasped to the central groove p in A, B2 is closed and houses the filling b, and the whole is thus firmly clasped together and held with screws, adjusted for service as seen at B, fig. l, The hold-back strap loop-holders C and D are similarin construction to the pole-ring holder, fig. 2, using the hinge, screw, and flange in a similar Amanner. C and Dare adapted to clasp a loop or strap secure with a screw, as seen in fig'. 4::4 The latter may likewise-be constructed with a loophole, o, through which, at option, a strap may be inserted, as seen at D/in fig. 1.
This invention consists in providing a metallic flanged and hinged clasp and housing for the'pole-riug and hold-back loops or straps of a neck-yoke, bound together with screws, and wherein the straps, leather, or other material, as they become worn out, may be readily replaced.
.What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The hinged metallic clasp, fig. 2, when used in combination with the leather or other filling b', substantially as and for the purposes set forth. i
2. The use of the hinged metallic clasps C and D, or either, as and for the purposes set forth.
set forth. u
