Our invention has for its object to furnish an improved clothes-drier, simple in construction, easily and conveniently used and operated, and which will occupy little space in the room in which it is placedyand it consists in the combination of the guide-way, guide, and frame with each other, in forming ajoint in the frame,
and in the Combination of the adjustable brace-arm with the frame and guide, the whole being constructed and arranged as hereinafter more fully described.
A represents a portion of the wall ofthe room. B is a guide-way, which is securely attached tothe wall Al of the room hy screws, cr in some other convenient and substantial manner, and which has a dove-tailed` groove formed in" rits outer side, as shown, for the'reeeption of the guide C. The guide or slide C has pro ieetions er pins projecting' from its sides, and fitting into the dove-tailed groove in the guide-way B. To the upper end of the guide C is attached the end of the central bar d* of the fra-me D. The frame D may be formed of any desired size. The central bar d* may be jointed near the guide C, so that the frame D may bc set at` r any desired angle or folded down aga-inst the guide-way B when vthe clothes are dry, or when it is not required for use. E is a brace-bar, the lower end of which is pivoted to the lower end of the guide C, and its upper end is pivoted to the outer end of the central bar d of the frame D. The bar E has several holes formed through it, so that it may support the frame D at any desired angle, or allow the said -frame to be folded down. F is a cord or rope, one end of which is fastened to the upper endf the guide C, and which passes over the pulley. G, which is pivot-cd to the upper end of the guide-way B. The rope F then passes through a. hole inthe inner part of the central bar dl, and its other end may be attached to the pin'H, which passes through the lower end of the guide-way B and serves as a stop to prevent the guide G from passing down too far. By means ofl the rope F 'the frame D may be lowered to receive the clothes, and then raised again so :1s tombe incre out of the way, and to raise the clothes to the warmest part of the room. Y What we cla-im as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is l. The combination of the guide-way B, or its equivalent, guide C, and frame D, with each other, substan-` tially as hercinvshown and described and for the purpose set forth.
2. The jointed central har of the frame D, incombination with the guide C :in dguideqvay B, substantially as herein shown and described and for the purpose set forth.
