A TTORNEYS NITED STATES PATENT OFFIoE.
* GUlIlDO HECKER, OF NEW YORK, N.
DISPLAY-RACK.
' SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No."6B6,063, dated November 5, 1901.
Application filed August 21, 1900. Serial No. 27,569. (Nomodeld To all whom, it may concerns Be it known that I, GUIDO HEGKER, a citi-.
zen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Display-Rack, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relatesto improvements in display-racks for merchandise for sale-such,
for instance, as bottles containing extracts, medicines, or thelike, candies, wax, &c.; and the object is to provide a display-rack that shall be light yet strong and serviceable, comparatively cheap to manufacture, and upon which advertising matter may be placed, so
as to both display and advertise the goods, obviating the use of extra banners or signs.
I will describe a display-rack embodying my invention and then point out the novel be light yet sufficiently strong. The rack is.
made hollow or box-shaped, having a rear wall 1, a front wall 2, and side walls 3. It may be also closed at the ends. Extended longitudinally through the rack and connecting with the back and front walls are partitions 4. These partitions are formed by opposite walls ofa box-like structure, the other opposite walls of which are secured to the front or rear walls of the main or outer box, thus giving strength to the whole device.
The partitions are provided with a series of perforations 5, and the sidewalls 3 are provided with perforations 6 in line with the-perforations 5, and into these alined perforations a portion of the package containing the goods to be displayed may be inserted. I have here shown wax-holding devices w, having stem portions engaged in the perforations; It is, obvious that the rack may be made as ornamental as desired, and the front wall and also the back wall, if desired, may have there on any suitable.v advertising matter.
The device may be hung against a wall or the like, or it may be placed upon a show-case I or counter and supported by a back leg, similar to an easel.
The rack has a greater height than width and a greater width than depth, so that while holding a considerable nu mber of articles to be displayed it will require but very little space.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A display-rack for goods, consisting of a box-like constructiomand partitionsextended lengthwise, the said partitions being formed by opposite walls of the box-like structure, the other opposite walls of the box-like structure being secured to the front and rear walls of the outer box or rack, the said partitions being each provided with a series of perforations while the adjacent side walls oi the outer box are provided with perforations in axial. line with the perforations of the partitions, substantially as specified.
In testimony whereof I hav'e signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
' GUIDO naounn.
