Operation. In order to use my hinge the plates D must be sunk into'the door and jamb in the usuali manner, and fastened by ineens of the screws n, after rwhich the'wings A can be pnt in the recessed part E, and secured by 4the screws P passing through holes ma'de through the plate D, and into' the.door or jamb. The door can be fitted to the back rabbet bydrawing. out one of the wings,` and from the .plate D, as seen lat iig. 1; and when it is -required to lengthen the hinge to swing over an `architrave both wings can be drawn out, which can be readily done' 'by loosening the screws P.
