TICKET-HOLDER.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, S. A. SIMISON, of Earlville, in the county of La Salle, and State of Illinois, have invented a new and improved Ticket-Holder; and that the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, hereinafter referred to, forms a full and exact specification of the same, wherein I have set forth the nature and principles of my said improvements, by which my invention may be distinguished from all others of a similar class, together with such parts as I claim, and desireto have secured to me by Letters Patent. y

The present invention relates to a holder susceptible of ready attachment-to and detachment from a coat or other article of wearing apparel, for holding and retaining a railroad ticket or check, more especially and in such manner as to be exposed to the view of the conductorupon the cars as he passes through the same, and in a. most convenient position for him to inspect and punch or to take the same, according as he may desire,

without any disturbance or annoyance to the wearer. In the accompanying plate of drawings my improved ticket-holder is illustrated- Figure 1 being a view of the same, showing it as worn or attached to the coat of a. person.

A, in the drawings, represents my improved holder for tickets, checks, Sac., which consists of a strip of metal, B, provided with prongs C at one end, and a prong, D, at the other, with a. spring-hook, E, between. the two ends of the metal strip, bent over and upon the same, so as to hold and grasp a ticket, check, &c., when I placed therein.

By the pronged ends of the metal strip B my improved holder can be readily applied and secured in the breast portion of a coat or other article of wearing apparel, and at such point thereof as may be most desirable, and which will best expose the ticket or card contained in or held by the holder to the view of the railroad conductor for inspecting or punching or taking the ticket.

Having thus describedmy invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A ticket-holder, made substantially as described for the purpose specified.
