Be it known that we, A. C. WURZBACH, of Memphis, Tennessee, and WILLIAM WUR'BACH, ci' New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Clasp g and we do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, lreference being had to the accompanying drawings, and tothe letters of reference marked thereon, of which- Figure I is a top View of the clasp when adjusted.
Figure II is a view with the tongue adjusted at the fourth slot.

The nature of our inventionfconsists in providing` a neat and durable clasp that can be adjusted to suit the ,mount that is required to be carried in the pocket-book Without the use of any elastic substancewhatever.
Construction.
The claspis composed ci' three pieces: the cap a, the plate and the tongue e. The plate l; is a thin, lat piece of metal, cut out the desired shape to receive the cap a. The cap a ismade of steel, or any other exible material that has the propersubstance. It is cutout to the required form, and slitted so as to form the spring c, and then attached to the plate I, as shown at Figa'I and II. The tongue e is then made of any suitable material with slots cr indentures n nrw fn nm'to receive the catch z' on the spring c. The clasp, after being made, is attached to the pocket-book belt, elastic, or to any Wearing apparel Where it may be applied and made fast.
Operation.
The clasp-is now made and adjusted to the pocket-book beltor elastic, and is locked by slipping the tongue c into the elongated hole between the cap a and the plate Z1, and is held to its place by the means of catch 't' on the spring c inserting itself into one of the slots n n', Svc., in the tongue e, according to the quantity contained in the book. The book is opened by lifting the spring e so as to disengage the catch z' from the slots n n', 8m.,

Advantages.
The advantage of our invention consists in furnishing a neat, durable, and simple adjustable clasp without the useof any expansive material, that can be applied to a pocket-book or any Wearing apparel with facility.
Claim.
What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- An adjustable clasp, when constructed and operated substantially .as herein described.
