Be it known that I, A. G. STARKWEATHER, of Burlington, in the count-y of Chittenden, and State of Vermont, have invented a new and improved Mop-Wringerrand I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art .to make and use the seme, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in Which- Figure 1 is a top view of my improved mop-wringen Figure 2 is .a vertical section of the same, taken through the line x fig. 1.

My invention has for its object to :furnish a nea-t, simple, und che-np device by means of which mops may be wrung without its being necessary to take hold of the mop with the hands; and it consistslin the roller-frames constructed and combined with each other and secured to the pail, as hereinafter more fully described. A

A is the lower frame, which is marde-eircular, so as to fit into the mouth of the pail, whereit is secured in place hy two or more Set-screws, B, passing through project-ions formell upon thev under side of the frame A and pressing againstthe interior surface of the pail to which it muy he attached. Upon the upper side of the circular frame A are forinel flanges a', to the ends of which is pivoted the roller C. To the other ends of the flanges ais pivoted or hingedthev frame D, through the top plate of which may be formed holes to make `it lighter, and also for convenience* in operating it. To the forward purt of the frame is pivoted the roller in such a position that when the frame D is shut down-the roller E may be parallel with and at a little distance from' the roller C, as shown in the drawing. v

In using the device, the frame A is secured to the pnil in the manner hereinbefore described, the frame D and roller E are then swung back' and the mop inserted in the pail. The mop is then raised so as to bring itn head upon the roller C. The frame D is then swung forward, bringing the roller E against the side ofthe mophead, which is then drawn out from between the rollers C and E, the action of the rollers being to squeeze out the surplus water from the mop. i

I claim as new, and-desire to secure hy Letters Patent- I The roller-frames A and D, constructed, combined with each other, and secured to the pail, substantially in the manner herein shown and described, and for the purpose set forth.
